There are a few things our furry friends just can’t seem to get enough of, and old, worn-out shoes appears to be the number one choice amongst our doggy pals.
So, we knew we had to create something that satisfies the infamous “shoe” craving. It had to be a one-of-a-kind creation that enhanced wellness and saved some of the shoes in your closet.
Then, in the wee hours of the night, it came to us—a stinky shoe-flavored tincture!
However, this was no easy feat.
In fact, this formulation took much longer than our current products. Check out everything we had to do to create this innovative formula.
Perfecting the Flavor Profile
This is where it got a little tricky. We had to figure out what type of shoe dogs would respond to the most. So we started with an official survey to see which types of shoes were chewed up the most amongst our employees.
Interestingly, it was an even toss-up between high-price designer heels and running shoes. We decided to dig a little deeper into our investigation. We gathered various dogs and laid out a variety of Jimmy Choo heels and used running shoes.
While some dogs went straight for the fancy heels, the majority headed for the stinky shoes—some of them rolling around and basking in the aroma.
A physical representation of doggie bliss?
We thought so, so we took our findings to our talented product scientists to see how we could turn our result into a pooch-approved product.
Dog-Tested & Dog Approved
We took the idea to our product scientist, and sure, he gave us a strange look at first, but it didn’t take long to get him on board once we showed him the findings.
So, we gave him the stinkiest shoe out of the lot, so he could extract the aromatic compounds, transforming some of them into flavor compounds.
It took some time to get the formula just the way we envisioned, but we finally perfected the recipe. Then, it was time for round two of product testing. To ensure our new pet tincture was loved by all, we gathered a broad range of breeds—cocker spaniels, teacup Yorkies, even a Neapolitan mastiff!
Each of our test participants received a serving of our Stinky Shoe flavored, and the results were incredible—they couldn’t get enough of it!
But wait, it gets better.
We gave each of our participants a bottle to take home, and the pet parents reported that their dog stopped chewing on their favorite shoes!
We’re proud of each and every formulation that we create, but this one holds a special place in our hearts.
